Finca Urlaub auf Mallorca Ferienhäuser

"Ferien Apartment Nr. TV139" - "Crestatx"

Mallorca - Ferien Finca und Ferienhaus für 6 Personen

The urbanisation of Cresatx is part of the municipality of Sa Pobla. The entrance to this quiet residential area is easily found along the main road going from Sa Pobla to Pollensa just opposite the beautiful old landmark Church dedicated to Santa Margarita.

Sa Pobla, at one time the Arabic town of Uyalfas, is situated in the low lands in the centre of the island. The area was once a wetland which extended through to Alcúdia, Muro and Santa Margarita and what remains of the swamps and lagoons today is known as the Albufera Natural Reserve Park and must be noted as an ornithologist's delight!

Sa Pobla is dedicated to agriculture and its exportation of potatoes plays a major part in the economy within the European market. Spicy tapas are a typical gastronomic contribution that may be sampled in any bar on the Main Square, the most traditional dishes consisting of eel, once abundant in the swamplands, served up in a variety of traditional recipes.

Sant Antoni, Sa Pobla's main feast day, is celebrated on the 16th and 17th of January when the town transforms into a network feasts and of bonfires, the infamous chasing of Devils, and delicious Mallorcan food tasting stalls, the most prominant local treat being "espingades", a kind of dough filled with spinach and eel, a very spicy dish indeed!
